Assembly Instructions: 2073-SF (Smyth)

IMPORTANT:

• ALL INSTALLATION WORK SHOULD BE DONE BY ACCREDITED PROFESSIONAL.

• SHUT OFF POWER SUPPLY AT FUSE OR CIRCUIT BREAKER!

• USE ONLY THE SPECIFIED BULBS. DO NOT EXCEED

PREPARING FOR INSTALLATION

Remove all of the contents from the carton. See the important

notes above. Shut off the power at the circuit breaker and

completelyremovetheoldxturefromtheceiling,includingthe

oldmountingstrap.

Fromthepartsbagremovethemountingstrapassembly.One

endofnipple(G)shouldbeattachedtomountingstrap(A)with

hexnuts(C,D)inplace.Theotherendshouldhavecanopy

loop(H)attached.Mountingstrap(A)containsseveralpairsof

threadedholes.Findthepairofholesthatmatchesthespacing

oftheholesonthejunctionbox.Attachmountingstrap(A)to

thejunctionboxusingmountingscrews(B)andascrewdriver.

Tightensecurely.Unscrewcanopyloopcollar(I)fromcanopy

loop (H). Pass canopy (D) over the mounted canopy loop to

testtheheight.Approximatelyhalfofthecanopyloop’sexterior

threadsshouldbeexposed,andthecanopyloopcollarshould

tsnuglyontothecanopyloop.Removecanopy(D)andadjust

theheightofnipple(G)andcanopyloop(H)untilthedesired

heightisreached.

Placexturebody(P)onaatsurface.Rod(N)isonthe

xturewires,butnotattachedtothebodyofthexture.Pass

thexturewiresthroughRod(N)andpullthewiresuntiltaut.

Twistrod(N)ontothexturebodyuntilsecure.Bymeasuring,

determine the correct number of chain links needed for proper

hangingheight.Ifnecessary,useapairofplierstoopenand

removeanyexcesschain.Attachonechainconnector(K)to

each end of chain (J). Use one of chain connectors (K) to attach

chain (J) to top loop (L) and close the chain connector. Have

anassistantattachrods(M)tothehooksonthexturebody

then attach the hooks of rods (M) to top loop (L). Hook the end

ofrod(N)ontotoploop(L).Pullthewiresthroughtoploop(L).

Feedthexturewiresupthroughthechain(everythreelinksor

so),pullingthewiresuntiltaut.Slidecanopyloopcollar(H)and

canopy (G) onto the chain/wire. Use the free chain connector (K)

to attach chain (J) to canopy loop (H).

CONNECTING THE WIRES

Haveanassistantsupportthextureweightwhilecompleting

thewiring.Cutawayexcesswire.Threadthexturewires

throughcanopyloop(H)andnipple(G).Attachthexture’s

wirestothepowersupplywiresfromthejunctionbox.Connect

blacktoblack(orsmooth);whitetowhite(orribbed);ground

toground(greenorcopper).Twisttheendsofthewirepairs

together,thentwistonawireconnector.Makesurealltwistsare

inthesamedirection.Ifthereisnogroundwire(greenorcopper)

fromthejunctionbox,locategroundscrew(F)onmounting

strap(A)andwrapthexturegroundwirearoundthegreen

groundscrew(F).Useascrewdrivertosecuregroundscrew(F)

ontothemountingbracket.Tuckallwiresneatlyintothejunction

box.

FINISHING THE INSTALLATION

Raisecanopy(D)totheceiling.andslidecanopyloopcollar

(I)upbeneaththecanopy.Tightlythreadcanopyloopcollar(I)

onto canopy loop (H) to secure canopy (G) in place. Slide candle

sleeves(Q)overthesockets.Installlightbulbs(O)(notincluded)

inaccordancewiththexture’sspecications.Placeglass

shade(S)ontobottomcap(T).Raiseglassshadeupbeneath

bottomassembly(R).Twistbottomnial(U)ontothethreadsof

bottomassembly(R).Tightensecurely.

Your installation is complete. Turn on the power and test the

xture.

CLEANING TIPS

Treat the xture gently! Regular cleaning will reduce the need for deep cleaning. For regular cleaning, turn off the light and wipe down the

xture with a clean lint-free cotton or microber cloth. Never spray cleaner directly onto the xture. For deep cleaning, turn off the light

and remove the glass prior to cleaning. Hand wash glass with warm water and mild detergent. Dry with a lint-free or microber cloth.
